After 24 years at The Three Crowns in Brinkworth, Anthony and Allyson Windle took the plunge and in August 2011 opened their second venue: The Weighbridge Brewhouse in Swindon.
It took almost 18 months to secure the funding and the project finally got under way in February 2011. The couple designed and project managed the renovations themselves with their visual hands-on style.
They have successfully transformed what was a run-down building into a fantastic modern dining space that is still within keeping of some of the buildings original features.
The dining area has a downstairs capacity of 120 and upstairs can seat an additional 30 people, which is also home to a beautiful glass piano.
The pub really promotes fine dining with a perfect ambiance and food that is freshly prepared and locally sourced where possible.
The pub is also becoming popular for its unique micro-brewery, where quality great tasting beers are brewed by Mark Wallington. As well as great tasting beer the pub also houses over 50 different types of wine to accommodate a wide range of tastes.
